First Time at the Track: Drivers Edge with Anthony Do

What do you do when you get tired of entering your trophy collecting boosted FRS into car shows? You redo the layout of the car and enter it in Drivers Edge. Well that might not be everyones plan but that is what Anthony had planned on doing over the weekend of Jan. 25th. As his friends we had decided that it was only right that we tag along and cover the track day from our perspective because there was really nothing else going on.

Started off the morning by picking up fellow SouthrnFresh photographer and all around troll, Jason Scott

Chick-Fil-A was a must have before we hit the road. Jason orders chicken like a child

After a little over an hour we had arrived at Texas World Speedway

We had arrived a little bit later than we had wanted to. Anthony had already gone out and now was in class. This gave us time to meet up with everyone and also walk around and stare at some of the cars that were out and about

Anthony’s better half was out with us cheering him on. Ladies take note

We wondered around the track for awhile and took some photos of the other cars, while Anthony was in the drivers class.

There was  a Lotus 2-Eleven was in attendance, I could not imagine driving this go kart around a track.

Being less then 1500lbs there is not much inside, but the essentials.

I think it was safe to say that we were over excited about seeing this 997 GT3 on Volk TE-37 Super Laps

I like how the only clean parts of the car are the parts where the numbers can be seen! haha

What is a track day without a Miata?

Dodge Duster filling up

I can only assume the Duster was powered by a fuel injected 340.

A couple brought out their toys, this being His…

and this being Hers..  Talk about a happy relationship.

I always thought Ferrari brakes were small compared to their power and capability.

Female owned and driven LP570-4 Superleggera

The Dodge Duster sounded like a demon during its laps..

Lotus 2-Eleven pushing the supercharged Toyota engine to the limits.

Only casualty of the day was this Datsun 240Z blowing its motor

Finally Anthony was out of his class so he could fill us in with how his day was going so far.

Being as this was my first track event in a car that used to be dedicated to car shows, I wasn’t sure how the car was going to react.

So I did what I could to prep the car for the track. Brake Ducts. Stoptech rotors, steel braided lines and brake pads. Had the suspension corner balanced and aligned. From there all I could do was hope and pray lol.

Scion / Subaru why couldn’t you just boost these from the factory?

Anthony getting prepared to go out and pass Ferrari F430’s and 997 Turbo’s

This is the only way to practice before you go out

Anthony preparing to hit the track for some runs.

That guy is either having a really good day, or is really excited to see the FRS hit the track.

Car handled amazing out there. Stuck to the ground alot better than expected. I was fairly impressed by the way the car hooked when passing the Ferrari and Porsche.

Here is a video of some of the track time with the FRS.
