Terrorizing the Streets: Joe’s High Horsepower RSX-S

Being in the presence of an RSX Type S that sounds like Death coming for you is awe inspiring. Especially if you used to own an RSX Type S yourself. First time I laid eyes upon Joe’s high horsepower RSX was three years ago in the parking lot of Import Reactor. Suprising to me he wasn’t showing his car. I thought even at the time it was one of the cleanest cars there. He just so happened to have the hood popped and underneath I saw the side mount turbo kit.

Here we are present day and as far as I can tell the car is complete. Starting on the outside with the authentic Mugen Lip Kit and the polished Enkei RPF1 wheels bolted over Stoptech slotted rotors to help this street car slow down from highway rolls. Towards the unbelievable interior detail. It is rare to see white RSX’s with black interior. The swap takes a lot of time to complete. Lucky for Joe he went the other way and purchased a Nighthawk Black Pearl RSX and repainted it white. The interior is fitted with Recaro seats and the rear seats are wrapped in matching Recaro material as well as the door panels.

Now we arrive at the powerhouse. Inside this K-Series block you will find Golden Eagle Godzilla Sleeves, 9:8:1 Wiseco Pistons, Manley Turbo Tuffs Rods with Custom Wrist Pins, Erl S2000 Modified Oil Pump with K24 Chain and K24 Oil pan. Inside of the ported and polished head you will find Supertech Oversized Valves, Supertech Springs and Retainers, and a Hybrid Racing Chain Tensioner. Finally the Turbo side of things. Chrome FP HTA3586 Ball Bearing Billet Turbo mounted to a T3/44 sidemount stainless steel turbo manifold, 44mm Dumptube,  three inch stainless two piece downpipe with v-band.

The build is immaculate and the numbers are incredible. There is something to be said about taking your time when building your car. Quality parts along with quality set up. The car has been properly repainted in one color and not covered in plastidip or multi-color panels. What you see before you is one of the fastest street Honda / Acura builds in Texas. Looking this car over made me want to re purchase an RSX and start building it myself. I don’t think I could ever match the power of what Joe had put together but it would be fun to try… One day.
