Autotuned Garage and FRS86

The first friends I made when I moved out to California were the guys and visitors of FRS86 and Autotuned.

From day one I could feel that the shop was a different animal than nearly every workspace, garage, shop, or office I’d been in before.

Parents and friends stop by on the regular, not just to talk and hangout, but to lend a hand and offer up advice.

The result is a massive catalog of cumulative experience and knowledge that can dissolve nearly any problem nearly immediately.

This experience isn’t even to mention Young and Meng’s experience on their own after working for shops and dealerships through the years.

The attention to detail, quality of work, and atmosphere come together to make a shop that spans generations, makes, models, and lifestyles.

Everyone is welcome, from pure track setups to stance queens, classic imports to brand new models like Young’s FRS RS1.

Enough of my experience with Autotuned, though. Now for the real history of the shop, from Meng himself.

It all started back when the debut of the “FR-S” was about to hit the dealerships.
My brother, Young had a chance to get his hands on one a week before they were to be sold.
Not in the market for a new car, I test drove his and knew right then I had to have one.
Long story short, the cards fell into place and a few weeks later I had one myself. That was the beginning of “FRS86!” in June of 2012.

Being previous “Honda scene & car enthusiasts”  we both knew how big of an impact the FR-S was going to be. We wanted to create and build a community of “like minded” car enthusiast to build this single car to last for many years to follow. With the help of friends in the industry, we came together to hold meets, events and spread news on everything related. We wanted to build and support companies that would only help the car & set examples of things that could be done, should be done and give ideas to those who wanted more.

FRS86 was created to be a good group of enthusiast to help others with questions and meet new friends that had the same interest.
It’s been 3 years now and we never expected FRS86 to be where it is today.
It’s been a long journey with everything in between, but we love everything about it.
From wrenching on cars all day and night, to locating parts that were hard to find.

Thanks to everyone that’s been there along the way!
We recently moved up and opened the doors to our new shop called “AutoTuned!” where we don’t just work on FR-S, but everything in between.
We are still a grassroots type of garage and love the company of familiar faces.

So if you’re in the southern California area, or an FRS/BRZ enthusiast, definitely look up FRS86 and Autotuned.
I can put my name on a wholehearted approval and recommendation for these guys.
