Formula D Road Atlanta v.2 : Global Time Attack

We are still gathering up the photos from the drifting from this weekends Formula D at Road Atlanta.  So we are gonna share the photos from the Global Time Attack event Friday and Saturday.  We had a lot of personal friends and locals running in the event so we were sure to show them some love as well.  Some of the photos we will be showing are from a local photographer who attends almost all of the events at Road Atlanta Tim Easterday, included with our photos from  Jon Davis, and Corbin Watson.

Cj & Tanner’s Troll Patrol Miatas

While we gather the rest of our Formula D photos, check out one of the photo sets from Import Alliance weekend of Tanner and CJ’s Miata out of Tennessee.   Low is very easy to achieve but it is a challenge to ride low, Miatas have started to be a popular car for the guys and girls that just want to get low.   A lot of die hard function guys may hate to see their precious Miatas so low  to the ground.

I love seeing dedication to a brand. There is nothing better than seeing the fruits of ones labor after they are bitten by the bug. For Allan, these fruits are his Datsuns and the journey they have brought him on over the past 15 years. For some the development of a car is the journey and nothing brings more joy and satisfaction. The car world as a whole is a better place because of those whose effort, time, and dedication save these cars along the way. My hat to you, Allan.

Formula D: Road Atlanta Round 2: Pit & Parking Lot

Well Formula D has come and gone in Atlanta, and it was an exciting weekend to say the least.  It started early in the week with Atlanta and its situation with the city council regarding drifting at Turner Field (sign the petition here if you have not already).  We also had our Texas crew make the trip to town for the weekend and it was the first time I got to meet and hang out with Dennis, Mark, and Jason in person.  I am pretty sure we got every angle of Formula D covered as there were at least 7 of us in attendance with cameras trying to catch it all. We had a lot of our hometown heroes having big days during the weekend, such as Chris Ward and Nick Thomas running this year as rookies in Formula D.  And for time attack,  Papaya Motorsports, Flawless, Deft Motion, and 2J Racing had our attention all weekend.

Atlanta’s own Chris Ward: Formula D Rookie

This year Atlanta has a local running with the big boys in Formula D this year.  Chris has been around the local drift scene for years and is very well known locally, and hopefully after this year we hope the world will know him as well.  Right before Chris set off to start his rookie season with Formula D, Perri Minot met up with him while the car during the last few steps of the build before it went off to California for Round 1 at Long beach.
