When we think of the term ‘re-build’ the first thing that usually comes to mind is reviving an old Model T, or 69′ Camaro SS, something from an enthusiast era much before mine or many of my friends time. Perhaps an old crank-walked DSM, or other tuner car is also worthy of the term but for a re-build this extensive; I think it is deserving of its own category.
Justin has built a few Hondas’. With this one he decided he wanted to go a different route and do a purpose-built track car. This car has been COMPLETELY gone through and not a single part exist on this car today that doesn’t serve a purpose on the tarmac. He didnt just get the biggest Voltex wing he could find, buy some canards, and go park at all the local get-togethers. Instead, he built this car with every intention on tracking his Civic once it was completed. He’s going to get that chance this season and with his ‘build-list’ at the very bottom he’s clearly serious (although the SouthEast doesn’t necessarily provide as many opportunities for racing as on the west coast).
From Wilwood to BC Racing to ARC Magic this car is quite a whore of the best parts available with his ultimate goal in mind. The car is equipped with a JDM GSR that has been worked from the ground up and topped off nicely with a set of TWM 50mm ITB’s. His suspension was finished off with the likes of various BC Racing, Hard Race, ASR, & Wicked Tuning parts. The “FIA Approved” Kirk Racing 6 point cage assures that their will be no issues during tech inspection.
This car sounds unbelievable, this coming from someone who up until recently was only into big displacement motors! The exhaust pitch/note quickly gives you the hint that this isn’t your ordinary Honda. We hope to see Justin hitting the track soon with this beast and reaping the rewards of such an AWESOME build!
