Well Import Alliance has come and gone, and a very eventful weekend it was.  It has been a long time since we have had a large event.  Within the last year I have had my first child, and things with the site kind of picked up and free time is hard to come by these days.  We have out grown the typical parking lot that used to satisfy our events.  Which is why we have not been able to host as many large events the past year.  Granted its a good problem to have, its just takes more time to find the right place to hold any type of event.  Mainstream Performance has always been a great layout for large meets. Even though it is far from the city, the location is perfect and provides more than enough space for us to welcome our peers to the city for the weekend.

Chris Anderson’s MAZDA RX7

A month ago, during TX2K13 I met up with Chris and his RX7.  He had contacted us almost 6 months before about being featured on the site.  But his location and schedule never permitted to connect with Dereck Matherne in that area.  Chris was in Houston for TX2k13 and we took a break from the burnouts and highway runs to get some photos of his LS1 powered RX7

Global Time Attack – May 10th – 11th

Last year was our first time encountering Global Time Attack at Road Atlanta during Formula D.  And we are anxious to see it return this year.  Southrnfresh will be covering the event in full force this go round.  Most of the cars are your fellow peers, so be sure to arrive early May 10th and 11th and check out the action from Global Time Attack.

Formula Drift 2013: Streets of Long Beach

Back into the routine for Formula D season.  I took a trip out to Long Beach to catch round 1.  There are a lot of new cars and new changes to FD this year, so I was pretty excited to see how it all played out int he first round.  It seems that a lot of the drivers held back a little bit at Long Beach because the track is surrounded by unforgiving walls.  We are a little behind with the coverage, so I will just recap the weekend in short and catch everyone up to speed with what happened and whats going on as they head to Road Atlanta.

How different are we? As car enthusiasts we have certain set expectations that we have to meet in society in order to conform to the normality of our culture. We have our flashy paint jobs, our costly engine builds, and our flawless wheels that often are worth more than the value of the car. We are told that we need to be “stanced” and “flush” in order to fit in with the times. Although there is absolutely nothing wrong with these notions, the point of contention is often missed. We try anything and everything possible to be different, but all we do is end up being the same.
