Utilitarian Chic

Honda’s Fit is another great example of the brand’s current offerings. Finally released on our shores in 2007, the Fit quickly became a hero of Honda’s fun-to-drive, easy to own legacy. Following in the footsteps of the 70′s Civic wagons and the 80′s wagovans, it provided phenomenal cosmic utility in an itty-bitty living space. The Sport model even provided a little bit of sex appeal with a tidy lip kit and body-matched headlights. Enthusiasts quickly hopped on this winning (Winning!) formula to create some great looking baby wagons.
Tubby’s Fit exemplifies the kind of of project we like to see here at Southrn Fresh. By creating a delicate balance of subtlety and balls-to-the-wall style, the viewer recognizes the car as something special without really knowing why it’s different than any other Fit. Most obviously though, the Fit has been slammed, courtesy of Buddy club N+ coilovers with custom springs. The wheels are CCW LM5′s (16×8.5 +19 +23 with 3 inch lips and 3.5 inch lips, respectively) and look fantastic. The stance has been fine-tuned with front and rear Ingalls camber kits.
The exterior has been finished off with a Spoon wing, Mugen visors, and JDM LED taillights; just enough to add a bit of flair without distracting from the already tasteful Sport kit.
Ladies and gentlemen, I know you are tired of me saying it, but OEM+ style will never go out of fashion. It’s the best way to respect the original nature of the design, while adding a touch of your own creation. Tubby’s Fit doesn’t pretend be something other than a tiny wagon, it takes it in, and wears it well. Utility on side, chic on the other.
