SOUTHRNFRESH 3 Coverage | Part 1
It has been a busy few months for us. Bringing back SF3 was a big step for us. We wanted to be sure that the space was large enough and we were ready to actually put on something that was worth your time and money. At first we had a lot of plans for the afternoon as we planned and put the event together a lot of that fell to the side, and we decided to keep it basic the first go round so we can get our feet wet with holding and event at an actual venue.
The original parking setup was going to be cars split up into makes and setup in certain areas. But once we arrived to setup parking we realized it was near impossible to get it correct with how people were arriving. Because no matter what time you tell people to show up, they will decide to show up whenever they feel like it. But its a good thing to have people excited enough to get in early. The day started out with 200 pre registered cars. And we caught a lot of people that wanted to register that morning. We had the space, we just did not have the man power the flow of cars that wanted to get in past 2:30pm.
It was pretty crazy to see the place almost full of cars by 2:30, 30 minutes before the event even started. At that time security had told us that we could not allow any more cars to come in the main entrance because of the amount of people in already. So we had to redo the whole setup and take in more cars from the other end of the park off the main road. Once we had the other gate open, we begin bringing cars in again, but we ran into a problem of people driving up to the front where security did not want there to be traffic, so we had to completely stop letting cars in to keep them happy.
Once that stopped we were able to relax a bit and settle down and just concentrate on spectators coming in. Which was way over what i expected, we originally had 1000 wristbands, and by 4:30 we were completely out. We then switched over to tickets left over from a previous event. Being right off a main road enabled us to pick up a lot of people who just drove by and wanted to check the event out. I saw large families that probably had no idea what a “southrnfresh” was come in and check everything out.
Overall we are very pleased with the day, and we are overwhelmed with the love and support we got from the community. An event like this is something that we have been trying to put together since we started this site in 2010. We learned a lot for future events, so they will only get better from here on.
We got only a handful of our own photos due to the fact that we were keeping everything going, so we reached out to you all to cover the event for us, and you have delivered. So most of the coverage will come from many different attendees.
If you have photo from the event please send them to:
