Johnny Le’s Porsche Cayman S

Johnny’s journey with the Cayman S started in 2006 when the car first came out.  He went to the dealership with the intentions of purchasing a 946 C4S.  But his salesman insisted that he drive the Cayman S instead.  After the test drive Johnny was in love with the Cayman S, and set the salesman on a hunt for a gray Cayman s with black leather and PASM suspension and no navigation.

The exact car was found in New Jersey, and May 5th 2006 he took ownership of his Porsche.  He had always been a Porsche fan, so that date is easy for him to remember.  The standard routine with a new car is always keep it simple and clean.  But we all eventually get to a crossroad, were we decide to go all out, stay safe, or stop.

Johnny’s first move was to stop, and he attempted at selling the Cayman.  But shortly after the decision was made to step out of the box, and put some of his ideas in motion.

Johnny’s inspiration to go all out with the Porsche came from RWB,and seeing Nakai San take a naturally beautiful car and make it even better.  So he decided to take a custom approach to the whole build.

Johnny reached out to Superstar Customs and went to work adding the Getty front splitter that was made for the second generation Cayman custom molded to fit the first generation bumper.   Gt3 cup front fender flares were added to hold the 19×10.5 wheels ,Getty rear  fender flares to hold the 19×12.5 wheels in the rear,  and a carbon wing from a 997.1 GT3RS  with custom uprights built by Johnny himself were fitted to the trunk.

The Forgeline GA3R center lock wheels are installed by a GT3 center lock conversion done by Solo Motorsports.

One of my favorite parts of the car is the exhaust setup.  Johnny built the exhaust by cutting out the license plate sides, and replacing them with heat tolerant materials.  Then routing the exhaust through the holes.  Johnny is planning on finishing off the aero of the car with a side skirts and rear diffuser from Superstar Customs this year.  And we will be he to update the progress.

  • is engine stock ? car looks like a beast .. if it’s 400bhp+ car,it’s a monster !

  • what is a 946 C4S? if you meant 964 C4S, they never made anything like that. the first C4S was a 993.

  • any high res photos for desktop backgrounds?
