Stancenation Atlanta 2017
Southrnfresh was created for the sole purpose of giving the Southeast region more exposure to the world. Back in 2010, it was rare to see a car from this region in a magazine or on any of the major websites. Without bragging I feel like we have accomplished something here and reached to a level, that people are finally paying attention.
2017 started out busy, and we had a bunch of local shows that set the foundation for outsiders to look and see whats going on here. Towards the end of the summer, Stancenation and Toyo came in to town and did a pre meet to see what Georgia had to offer up close and personal.
Elvis (owner of Stancenation) and Gio (owner of Super Futura) seemed very excited to finally be coming to Atlanta for a show. I was nervous at first I did not know what to expect from them. My first thought was that they were gonna come in town put their flag in the ground, take everyone’s money give out awards to the wrong people and leave town.
But they were here for the right reasons and really wanted to put on a great show, and bring out the best in Atlanta.
The weekend started out with a pre meet held by Beast Cobb at Rose and Crown Tavern. Very chill and laid back restaurant that had some really good crab cakes. We were able to eat on the balcony and still be outside with friends. Pictured above Alex Kiosa’s 5 Series that had been under construction for a few years up until late last year. Once of the cleanest E34 5 Series in Atlanta.
Front line at the Pre – Meet. Kevin Lam’s and Steven Kustov’s M3 , Kurshid’s LS430, and Matt Mummert’s Audi A6.
On the opposite Atlanta Air Ride side. Rammi’s M3, RJ’s STi, and Charles’ Civic Si
Griffin’s Sq5 and Gerodie’s R Class Wagon
Jordan’s G Wagon
After we left Rose and Crown Tavern, we headed over to Koruworks in Marietta for a small gathering for a few hours.
I have always called Koruworks a hidden gem in Atlanta. But over the last few years it has came out of the “hidden” shell and have been much more active on social media and overall activity outside of working in the shop. Koruworks has had a hand in building some of the best looking and best functioning drift, race, and show cars in Atlanta. Pictured above is Alexander Grant’s S13 with the Car Modify Wonder kit installed. We ended our pre gaming for Stancenation Atlanta after Koruworks.
Whenever a big name comes to Atlanta I always help as much to get people to come and support if it feels like its going to be a worthy event. I cant put our name behind anything that I personally feel is gonna be a waste of time. Talking with Elvis and Gio throughout the weekend assured me that they had the right idea for us here. So my next worry was attendance and hoping that people would come and support the event and make them want to come back in 2018.
The overall organization was great, the SN team got the right people to come out. And the foot traffic seemed really good. I really did not expect anything less with the STANCENATION name attached. We had plenty of time in the building so I took about 200 plus photos , and tried to get every car at least once. I posted some of my favorites and a lot of the cars you have seen many times before. The whole gallery can be seen here .

That is a portion of the photos from the event, if you want to see all of them check the full gallery out here. I really appreciate everyone that made it out and supported Stancenation’s first event here in Atlanta. I reached out to a lot of people to register and come out. Because I wanted Atlanta to be represented well. And it did, most of you all truly could have cared less about winning an award. And came to support and that is it, a lot of you I had to force to fill out the show form to even be judged…. haha. The Stancenation team did a great job on choosing winners at the show. Everyone that won rightfully deserved their awards. We hope to see Stancenation back in Atlanta for 2018. Thanks for reading…
