Will’s Supercharged MK4 Golf
Years ago when I first met Will, he was a young guy with big plans for his Golf. Like most of us when we get our first car in high school we learn and ruin it, and it gets tossed away as we move on to something else.
Its rare that someone will hold on to a car for more than a few years. I am guilty of this over and over again and I regret selling a few. But not every car is a keeper, and sometimes you just want something to fill a temporary void.
Will’s MK4 Golf, started its life out as a automatic 2.0 Golf engineered for daily commuting. He got the car in high school, but over the years we have all watched Will slowly put this car together and get it to this level. Most of us can think back to that car we had in High School that we loved and had so many plans for.
I appreciate when someone takes their time, and gets things done how they see fit and when they want to. We get so tied up in wanting to do things so fast and put deadlines on ourselves, and it takes the fun out of it. The small pieces lead to the big pieces which is what makes all this so fun. And sometimes its best to wait till you can do it right rather then rushing into something.
The first thing anyone thinks about when modifying a automatic 2.0 Golf is swapping the drivetrain for one of VW’s many turbocharged engines, or a VR6. Will had the guys at Eurofed 5 speed swap the car, and install a rare Neuspeed supercharger kit that doubles the power of the mighty 2.0.
One of the key elements to any build are the wheels. After many many sets of Rotiforms Will got a set of BBS LMs. The wheels were sourced in the exact specs needed, and refinished by LLoyds
Its been a pleasure to see the progress of Will’s car over the years…..
