Southrnfresh 12 Coverage
Looking back and hearing all the kind words about Southrnfresh 12 I remind myself on why every year the team and I go through the small details to make sure the event goes a certain way. Having the event start as a “let’s see what happens in 2010” to a staple in the community is always amazing to me. To me it seems so simple, but I can’t take all the credit.
These events attract the true automotive culture. Even though Southrnfresh has been an import heavy community, it has its hands in all pieces of the culture. You all go online and buy merch, buy tickets, share , spread the word and make the event what it is and what it has always been. So be proud of yourselves for keeping the event at the top of its game and always forcing us to stay on our toes with everything we do.
I want to give a huge shoutout to the team past and present that regardless of what I throw at them they always make it work and have just as much passion for SF’s success as I do. I want to give a shoutout to all the vendors that continue to support the event and trust in us to provide them with a place to network and display their brand.
Most of the vendors are our peers and local businesses that we have seen grow over the years. Most of them are long time friends that were attendees in the beginning, but have transformed into business owners chasing their dream. I am thankful that Southrnfresh can continue to provide a place for people to grow their enterprise.
Also thankful to the newer generation that have embraced Southrnfresh into their world. A few years before 2020 we were going through a transition with locations and even skipped a year in 2020. When we returned in 2021 it felt like we were being left behind by the new look and style of the fast paced social media scene.
I had many thoughts of “damn… that’s it we the old guys now and the New generation ain’t f’kn with us”. I figured we were gonna get to SF10 and be done with it. I wrecked my brain on ideas on how to keep up with the fast moving scene. What did we need to do… more events? More content? Attend more events? I gave them all a shot, it all led me back the basics.
We chose to keep the community first and never compromise on what we do. Atlanta’s automotive community has the ability to see right through the BS and anything that we don’t see to be true it won’t last and it won’t survive with us. And over the years Southrnfresh has started to reach to the newer generation and I am grateful to see them come out and support us, I really enjoy seeing your creativity.
Shoutout to all the OGs who have been building since high school and are still building vehicles that have elevated past our local scene and have traveled all over the US and been on the cover of magazines. You all still find time to support SF and make the event what it is today. My favorite part about all of this is seeing people mesh into one and seeing people connect at the event and reminisce on past events and form friendships that are tied into Southrnfresh some way or another.
We are so old that some of you all are coming out with your kids and their own builds. It’s all beautiful to see and what makes this bigger than just a day in the park. We take this very serious because I know how hard you all work to get your car or truck exactly how you want it. And the worst thing for us is to feel like you don’t get your moneys worth when you come to the show and even when you purchase SF merchandise I make sure when you get that package you feel like you got more than what you expected.
I appreciate all the kind words, and all the positive feedback from the event this year . But I must direct that to the team that work just as hard as I do to make sure everything goes as planned, I am forever in debt! I look forward to continuing the tradition until it’s no longer possible.
