Mazmart’s RE Miata Update..

Last month Mazmart held one of their known rotary/mazda.  I arrived late and most had left, but i stayed pretty late talking to Paul and Chris about future plans for the world renown Mazmart and Mazda in general.  But before it got too late Paul started up their long term project up and showed off the fresh paint and body work.  Still a work in progress the Miata is set to be the blueprint for Mazmart’s own bolt-on swap kit.

Tabasco is the nick name because it’s red and hot. RE MX-5 is the official name, courtesy of Mazmart. It is powered by an RX8 engine and gearbox and has hybridized wiring mixing RX8 with MX5. The body kit is from AutoExe of Japan with paint by Sentry Paint and Body of Lilburn GA.

Much thanks to Chris Tyre for his never ending work ethic and drive to complete the project and Nick Cesar who was extremely instrumental in this project.

Fresh out the paint booth..

The stock  Renesis motor sits in the Miata bay like it should have been there all along, using all factory bolt locations.

The car is sitting on a Rx8 subframe, and stock suspension so please excuse the 4×4 height.  Also note the Rx8 brakes up front.  Not shown but also the car is equipped with working an Rx8 gauge cluster.

A short running of the car, there was no radiator installed at the time so it could not stay on for long… to be continued!

This was the project almost 1 year ago to the date!
