Formula D Rd.3 Palm Beach : Fatlace Showcase

As we gather our action shots from this past weekend at Palm Beach International Speedway  for Formula D Round 3: Invasion.  I got all of my stills from the Fatlace Showcase and some of the cars parked at the vendor areas, and a few I saw in the parking lot.  I am always excited to go out of town and check out some of the out of state cars, but Florida is full of quality cars I have never seen in person.  So since I was not planning on getting to much of  the action I dedicated my weekend to the Fatlace Showcase on Saturday, and maybe finding a nice car for us to shoot.

The Fatlace showcase was filled with a some of the popular cars from Florida I have seen on the internet plenty of times, so it was good to get to see them in person.   They were parked kind of weird inthe grass so it was hard to get good angles on some of them.   As usual Friday there was not much going on, besides qualifying and Time attack, and most of the day was spent checking out the track and getting used to the new layout.  I should have waited to take some of the photos instead of in the early afternoon, but I did not want to miss any of the Showcase cars, so some of them maybe a little blown out, so excuse some of them I just did not want to miss any of them.

One of the first cars I spotted Friday afternoon, the weather was terrible!!  It was cloudy, humid, sprinkling and hot…the worst!  But the car was dope, its from Team Emotion, It was a automatic but I am sure its still fun to drive.

I was not able to any of the Global Time Attack cars except this one, I truthfully never saw any of the Time Attack cars pits anywhere not sure if they were on the other side of the track or what, but this was the only car I actually saw off the track.  The FR-S sounded nice on the track, and placed 4th in Street RWD at 1:35:7.  Im sure the FR-S will be a very common sight at events in the future, there were 2 black ones in the parking lot alone, and the car was just released a few weeks ago.

It was interesting to see a car like this, “Itasha” is the style of an anime livery on the car, it was put together good it seemed.  I actually met the owners brother that drives the SC parked next to it with the same theme.  We were gonna try to do a photoshoot of the two cars together, since it was something I was not too familiar with, and I am sure some people would like to check it out more in depth.  But we were not able to connect with Gary and his brother before we left..maybe next time!

Spotted Jose Q’s Evo out in the parking lot.

RSX on CCW  from Team Solo

STi on Work Emotion XD9 from Team Solo

Rich Nguyen’s Rsx I have seen all over the net many times before.  This was my first time seeing it in person, and it is very official with the Midori Green paint and the A-Spec lip kit.  This car has always been top notch event back when it was black with the Mugen setup.

8th gen on BBS RS, Could not get a whole shot of the car, the cars were parked really close to each other.

Lexus IS with INGS lip kit on Work Meisters.  Whoever detailed this car deserves a award, the car was like a mirror..check the civics reflection..lol

Team Solo VIP Lexus GS

This car seemed to be a new look on how we typically see Pontiac’s.  Owned by Vinh Van Le, the Vizage lip kit is a good look for the body style of the car.  By far I think that these were the best looking cars to be made out of the F Body chassis.  Supposedly this car will be featured on Canibeat so we were told, so look out for it!  Check out the owners cardomain page

Really liked this S13 Coupe, I wish the picture was better of it.  Very well put together

Troy Huyhn’s turbocharged RSX was another car I have seen on the net, and got to check out in person.  If you know this car, than you know Troy is a top notch photographer and has hooked up with a few features in the past, check him out at Troy Huynh.com!

Acura TL A-Spec lip kit and a set of VS-KF.

Austin Meek’s 2Jz G35 sedan, if you cant tell its a competitive drift car in Pro Am.

IS on CCW LM5

Sergio Ramirez’s M3 representing Highway Star Garage  on Rotiform BLQ’s, we got to get a shoot of the car while in town so stay tuned for that.

S2000 with ASM Aero and Volk  CE28

This SiR has been through 3 owners, and it has found its home in Florida, it was taken great care by the previous owner in Tennessee , and it seems to be in good hands this far.

The 3 Honda’s were all with the “Fuck Fake Parts” group, no need to explain that at all!  Check out their Facebook page.

The famous Bagged Accord on 20″ Vossens.

Simply Clean had a group of Ruckus outside their booth.

Subaru from Highway Star Garage

GTR from the Fatlace Showcase

Justin Ghoad’s Evo took home best Time Attack

This WRX was really nice looking, I did not get a picture of the Boso exhaust out back.  The car had North Carolina plates on it, was trying to find the owner and shoot it while we were there, but never saw them.

Another car from the Fatlace Showcase from the Highway Star Garage crew.

That is all we got from the showcase, the next set of photos will be the action shots from the drifting!  Should be up by the end of the week!
