Ferrari Corse Clienti / Ferrari Challenge : Road Atlanta 2020

XX Programmes

The XX Programmes use very limited edition cars developed exclusively for the track. They emerged out of the ingenious and idea of involving a group of special customers in the development of the Ferraris of the future, asking them to provide Corse Clienti engineers with information. The enthusiasts who own these cars take part both in the events and in various technical test sessions over the year. They are closely monitored by Ferrari experts and get a chance to meet Maranello’s engineers and professional testers in an environment in keeping with the tradition of the world’s most famous racing team. Three cars are part of this activity: the FXX of 2005, the 599XX and the FXX K from 2018 equipped with the brand new Evo kit.

F1 Clienti

Since 2003 the F1 Clienti programme has permitted a small group of people to buy F1 cars and has enabled those who bought them earlier use them to the fullest. Corse Clienti makes the car’s owner feel like a real Scuderia Ferrari driver. Owners don’t have to worry about anything except putting on their gloves and helmet, driving and have fun, Corse Clienti does the rest.

During the events the driver has exceptional tutors available: drivers like Marc Gené, Olivier Beretta, Davide Rigon and Andrea Bertolini reveal all the secrets of the single-seater and help make an already unique experience even better.

I have always been skeptical and slightly troubled about the fact that when you purchase one of Ferrari’s most elite vehicles you do not have direct access to it at all times.  And that you can only drive at 9 special events sanctioned by Ferrari themselves.

For a long time it bothered me, but being at one of these events and seeing the whole process it makes sense.  The amount of appreciation and love that Ferrari has for their cars is second to none.  So its only right that they extend that care even after the owner purchases the car.

Money is not the only way to get a chance to take your Ferrari on track, it requires a private invitation from Ferrari to be able to attend these events.

The cost varies, but it assures that the owners have a worry free experience, that just requires them to show up and drive.  Everything is sorted out for the drivers, they even make sure the drivers eat properly to maintain their stamina to drive throughout the day.

There is also a full team of engineers and mechanics at your service making sure the cars perform and drive at their fullest potential all weekend.

Seeing some of these cars for the first time it was amazing to be able to get up close and personal with them in a empty garage.

The FXX K Evo is one of Ferrari’s most advanced vehicles that they offer, but with all the technology inside of it .  It still such a simple vehicle  once you break it all down, but at the same time it looks like a spaceship from the future.

The sounds that these cars made was unreal.  The best part of it was seeing how the cars compared to each other, watching the 599XX get passed by the Enzo FXX , then watching the FXX K Evo pull away from everyone.

Friday they had the Ferrari Challenge cars out practicing and getting ready for the Saturday race.

There were a few casualties throughout the weekend.  One of the F1 cars wrecked on Friday, and the other 2 on Saturday.  None of them were severely damaged, but they managed to get them back on track by Sunday .

I can only imagine driving these cars on track, and getting to experience what these cars can really do.  The idea of not having access to something so expensive is unreal.  But in reality there is no way someone would be able to maintain the level of service and maintenance the car needs to be able to perform properly and always give the owner the proper experience…
