Larry Young’s Lexus LS460 – The General
You can search the site and find many photos of Larry’s cars all the way back to the beginning of Southrnfresh. Since the first time I met Larry he has been one of the most passionate people in the scene. The passion comes off and anger or being too serious, but I appreciate the pursuit of perfection and taking pride in doing something you love.
Since Day 1 Larry has been all into the vip scene, watching his Q45 go from lowering springs and 20″ wheels to a widebody masterpiece is what the scene thrives on. People complain and pretend to not care about what they build, but deep down we all care. And sometimes I wish everyone had the same passion and intensity as Larry does.
When you talk to someone who has been apart of a certain style for so long, you appreciate their pace and progress much more. You trust their silence because you know they took time to make a plan with their build. Even though he usually spills the beans on what he is doing, he will always leave out key details.
Over the years Larry has built a well known team internationally known as Infamous Society ( Infamous Society Feature). People talk shit about clubs , teams, and crews in the scene. But the scene as a whole was built on groups of people coming together to push each other to do better. Real groups add value and credibility to the region. Teams become what people come from out of town to see, and what gives a region their recognition.
Infamous Society as a whole brings a presence to every event, and people say what they want about them. But the respect level is high, and watching them pull up is like watching Torreto and the crew pull in to the races. Infamous takes what they have built serious and respects the community enough not to invite anyone that does not fit their structure.
Ill say it over and over, the scene thrives off people that respect the scene take pride in everything they do. Over the last few years that has been lost, and people are in it for the short gain and quick return. The best part of a build is the process, so I don’t understand why people are so quick to rush the process. Larry and the whole team, take their time and craft their builds to their own appeal, and regardless of the outcome its always done right..
Salute to the general.
