Wekfest San Jose 2026

Wekfest has always been the almighty event for me.  One of my earliest memories from Wekfest was seeing the show in the early stages being held in a parking garage in San Francisco.  The garage was packed to capacity with cars and attendees with even more people outside waiting to get in.  Back then we had Import Alliance which was at its peak out here in the South and it had the same impact that Wekfest had in San Francisco at the time.

But as we all know California just does things on another level, it just what it is.  We had a chance to catch Wekfest Texas and New Jersey in 2013 and Texas again in 2015 and the one here in Wekfest Atlanta in 2018.  The Texas event was still one of my favorites still to this day.  In 2013 we got in town early enough to catch the Mayday Garage / The Chronicles Hosted the Wekfest Premeet the night before.  Which was the first time we met the legendary Mayday Garage crew, I remember the event being extremely cold for Houston and the beginnings of  The Ricebox Food truck (started by John of Mayday Garage) which has transitioned to a full on restaurant.  In 2015 we made it back out to the Mayday / Wekfest Premeet and it was an amazing event and home to some of my favorite photos.  The 2015 Texas show was a big goal for me, because I was able to bring my Mazda 6 to the event and sit amongst the best in Texas.   In 2018, Wekfest made a stop here in Atlanta and it had a lot of promise but, at the time we had about 5 indoor events back to back and by the time Wekfest made its way to Atlanta people were worn out and it was not as good as it could have been and they have not been back since.   I always think back to those being our best years as the times when we were fully involved and taking road trips like it was nothing.  After going to those events, I made it a mission to make it out to a true West Coast Wekfest and see how it is.  Initially I had not known which event was bigger the San Jose or the Los Angeles show, but the locals insisted that the San Jose show was the bigger event and the must attend Wekfest.    I wish I had more information and more names and breakdown of some of these cars.  But I cant say enough how great the event was and how refreshing and motivating it was to get a taste of what the West has to offer.  It would be really cool to maybe get some of our east coast builds to make it out West for the show.  Here are a few of my favorites but a very small percentage of what was in attendance.

Joey Lee’s Civic Type R.  One of the cars that I was excited to see in person, and really wanted to see if it was as clean as it looks on IG an Youtube haha.  I am not a hardcore Honda guy, but I have been a longtime fan of The Chronicles and have always joked about Joey having a Honda build in the US so everyone that dislikes him can have a reason to hate even more.  But one of the things I appreciate about Joey is being real and true to his opinions and dedication to the automotive community.  And one of the last few true bloggers left that actually care.  If you are not familiar take a trip over to The Chronicles and get familiar.

Access Garage’s Yellow Fever Civic EK revived for Wekfest.

Access Garage’s Silver Fox also resurrected for Wekfest San Jose.

Andy Mai’s Civic Coupe one of my favorites.

Jaylen Chapmen’s Civic Hatch

A row of Civic EKs that I really loved.
