Jzilla Trackdays: Death of Winter at Atlanta Motorsports Park March 2020
Photos from the first track day of the year for Jzilla Trackdays. The event was held on March 14th, right when the US slowly started to shut down and most of us were forced to stay at home.
The event was full to capacity, the Jzilla staff held the divers meeting online prior to the event, and also held beginner group meetings outside. And for the first time they were being instructed by lead / follow instead of having an instructor in the vehicle with you. Even though I was not driving the event, I was really grateful that the team did everything in their power to make the event safe for everyone.
I came out for a few hours, and took some photos of the event, and tried not to get too emotional for not being on track…
Pair of Hondas from Make_Shift that brought back some great nostalgia..
Ron’s AE86
Ted giving some instruction to Justin and Lewis during lunch..
Happy to see this car back on track after a long hiatus. This car was built by Andrew Nuse a huge Mazda lover like myself. Jzilla purchased the Mazda 3 a few months ago to use for ride a longs.
Make Shift EK out on track.
Henry Cooper in his Cooper S
Geronimo out on track for the first time in his widebody Supra.
Gino putting the G63 AMG to work.
Justin Stier in his WRX
Lewis Smith in his WRX
Dana Palmer in his GC Coupe
The skid pad was also available for drivers to get ride a longs or test their skills themselves in their own car.
Hats off to the Jzilla team again for putting together a solid event once again. Sadly the next few track days have been cancelled. But it looks like we will be back on track in June for Road Atlanta.
